Pastor Mark Borgetti
Celebration Campus Pastor, Mission, and Outreach

Pastor Mark Borgetti is a second career pastor. He graduated from Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer Indiana in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. For the next 20 years, Mark worked in the field of information technology developing business applications. After making a New Years Eve resolution to find a church home in 1991, Caryn and Mark’s faith journey led them to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. Little did these two former Catholics know how that decision would affect their lives. After their very first meeting with the Pastor Jerry Nelson, Mark remembers feeling God’s tug at my heart; a tug that ultimately he could not ignore. In the spring of 1999, Mark took the plunge and entered the ELCA Candidacy process. Mark received his Masters of Divinity in June of 2005 from Northern Baptist Theological seminary; meeting all the ELCA Candidacy requirements by also taking class at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago.

He and his wife Caryn have called Naperville home since 1991 and are the parents of three wonderful children; Alyssa, Cayla, and Adam. Since stumbling into Our Saviour's, Caryn and Mark have been very active. Caryn has been directing the 1st and 2nd grade choir as well as sings with the contemporary worship service New Song band. Mark not only was a worship team leader for our Total Family Sunday School service “way back when” as well as the first Coordinator of Communications; developing the first Our Saviours website.
What are the passions of a pastor who was a former Catholic, who received his Masters of Divinity from a Baptist seminary, who now serves in a Lutheran congregation? Mark’s has two. First, he wants to challenge people of faith to respond to God’s gift of grace by living fully devoted lives as disciples of Jesus; walking in the dust of the rabbi, reflecting God’s love and grace to everyone they meet. Second, he prays that the lost will be found. He hopes that the “unchurched” or “de-churched” … those far from God … respond to the Spirit’s prompting and seek out authentic Christian community and worship at churches like Our Saviour's and other Christian communities of faith around the globe.
