Stephen Ministers are men and women from the faith community who have developed their gifts for bringing Christ’s healing love to people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. They come from all walks of life, age ranges, and backgrounds. Stephen Ministers are lay people who undergo a lengthy, intense training period that teaches them to walk another’s troubled path with them. The support they offer is gender-specific, one-on-one and non-judgmental. It is neither therapy nor advisory in nature, but does serve the essential purpose of Christian friendship. Any person experiencing life difficulties can request the help of a Stephen Minister; an Our Saviour's clergy person makes a match between the skills of the care-giver and needs of the care-receiver. Friends and family members are often the ones to recognize the need for the help of a Stephen Minister, and contact a pastoral care team member (pastors, nurse, counselor) to make that connection.
So, if you are in need of Christian friendship, or if someone close to you seems to need this particular kind of help and support, then please contact:
Pastor Joe Schultz
