Our Child & Family Ministries offer many ways to connect with others. Knowing Jesus and making Jesus known, in and through the lives of children and their families, is what steers our many programs.
Baptism claims us as God's own in a very public way. And as a sacrament of the Lutheran church we hold baptism at the core of our identity as Christians, recognizing that it makes special claim on our lives. We look to the Bible, which gives us the example of Jesus' own baptism and Martin Luther who talked about the various aspects of the sacrament and just how important it is that God comes to us without us ever being deserving of God's love which is so generously given to us in baptism. We welcome people of all ages; children, youth and adults to be baptized at Our Saviour's.
Preschool and Parents Day Out Ministry
The Children’s Center of Celebration is a ministry of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, serving not only the educational and spiritual needs of the young child but also of the parents; supporting the parenting journey through education and spiritual growth as expressed through a warm welcoming faith community.
Even the children are encouraged to connect with one another by joining one of our children's choirs. We hope that through this experience, children will form long lasting friendships, grow in their faith and relationship with God, and learn that as a Christian, we are all given the wonderful opportunity and encouraged to serve others.
Children in kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome to participate.
For children grades 1-5, children attend class with their parents for 3 sessions. The class is held instead of church school those days. At the end of the sessions, children receive a stone for their cross received the first day of the program.
Children’s ministries are led and carried out by
disciples who are responding to God’s love in their own lives and see
children’s faith formation as a ministry.
