Pastor Joe was born and raised in Chicago and LaGrange Park, IL. In 1978 he started working full-time as a Redi-Mix concrete truck driver for Prairie Material Sales.
He discerned God’s call to ministry in May of 1995. He started his undergrad coursework in January of 1996 at C.O.D and then to Elmhurst College in 1999. From January 1999 until June of 2000, Joe was a part-time youth minister at St. Peter’s UCC Church. Then he was called to Epiphany Lutheran Church in Elmhurst as a part-time youth minister in September of 2000. Joe left driving the Redi-Mix truck and went full-time as pastor-in-training at Epiphany in June of 2001. Joe started at Lutheran School of Theology in August 2001. He graduated from LSTC in May of 2007. After internship in Gatesburg, PA, Joe was called by Our Saviours as interim minister of Pastoral Care in March of 2007. In June of 2007, Joe was called as the Pastor of Congregational Care.
Pastor Joe is passionate about worship and word and sacraments, pastoral care, mission and outreach. Joe is looking for the ministry of congregational care to evolve into new ways of caring and helping people not only in their physical and emotional lives, but also their spiritual lives. Joe has been happily married to Tammy and they have two sons, Jason and Dan. His passions are his family, Formula 1 racing, football, running and food!
